Animated Scan aimed to enable consumers equipped with RealSense 3D camera to automatically insert their 3D scanned avatar to into their favourite games and applications. In this project I developed the entire flow from scanning to application, including the automatic Rigging and Skinning (Skeleton Fitting) based on model-fitting hyper-parameter of the 3D avatar. Once the scanned model successfully rigged and skinned regular animations can be paired with it to create different types of motions. The development was integrated into Unity3D in order to provide straight integration of the animated model to applications inside the game engine. Animated Scan was presented by executives at numerous conferences including Intel’s IDF SC, IDF China and REC.
